The administration wanted the land to shift Lord Shiva Temple at Bhanwarkua Square, Bhanwarkua police station and construction of overhead water tank. Last year, remaining 25 acres of land was also taken back by the administration with a promise of 30 acres of land at Bada Bangarda in return for space on UTD campus.

Considering that the only A+ National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) graded state varsity hadn’t got the registration of the land done on papers, the district administration had taken 25 acres of the total land in 2013 as no concrete step was taken by the varsity to setup the medical college. It was in the year 2001 when the varsity was allocated a land of 50 acres at Bada Banagarda from the district administration to set up a medical college. This department will function at the already existing building till the new infrastructure is developed, she added. Considering that infrastructure at 13 acres of land for the department is yet to be developed, the varsity is now planning to set the department on an immediate basis. We are planning to begin with the department soon,” vice-chancellor Dr Renu Jain told TOI. “We have received 13 acres land on papers for our ayush department and procedure of notification of the land was also done a few days back. It has completed the process of registration and has received land from district administration on papers.

After being kept at the back burner for over two decades, DAVV is now all set to take steps towards establishing the ayush departmnet soon.
